Summit & Plains
Twelve days: Kilimanjaro by the quiet route, then the Migration from a private camp.
The trip we are best known for: the mountain first — walked slowly, camped quietly, summited with the best acclimatisation profile we sell — then five days of private safari to decompress among the herds. One crew on the mountain, one guide on the plain, one itinerary with nothing to think about. This is the trip people book when they want the whole country and no compromises in either half.
- 01Eight-day Lemosho or Machame trek with our senior guide team
- 02Summit celebration dinner in Arusha, then due south to the bush
- 03Five private safari days across the Migration's line
- 04One seamless itinerary, two of the great experiences on earth
How the days move.
Arrival in Arusha
Arusha
Airport collection, gear check with the mountain crew, and an early night at the hotel. The duffel is weighed; the boots are tested.

Kilimanjaro
Acclimatisation architecture at its best — high in the day, low to sleep.

The Wall and Karanga
Kilimanjaro
The joyful scramble at dawn, the valley crossing, the southern glaciers in profile.
B/L/D · Karanga Camp

The gate of the summit: short walk, long rest, kit checked twice.
B/L/D · Barafu Camp

Into the Serengeti
Serengeti National Park
Up through the highlands and onto the plains — the Migration's country, positioned where the grass says the herds are.
B/L/D · Tented camp, Seronera
Full day of plains, crater rim at dusk
Serengeti → Ngorongoro
A last big morning among the cats, then the climb to the crater rim for the mist and the quiet.

The crater floor and departure
Ngorongoro → Kilimanjaro Airport
Dawn in the crater — rhino, flamingo, lions on the road — then the road out and your evening flight home, or the Zanzibar extension.

Before you ask.
Is the safari before or after the trek?+
Always after. Walking downhill with tired legs through an airport is nobody's holiday; the bush is the perfect decompression, and your knees will thank you.
Can we shorten the trek?+
We advise against it — the acclimatisation profile is the trip's success rate. But we can swap the route to Machame 7-day or Marangu 6-day and keep the safari length.
What shape do I need to be in?+
Train for the mountain, not the safari: long back-to-back walks with a loaded pack. The safari half requires only binoculars and a comfortable seat.
